Hard Drive Question

At the moment I have an E-mac which is running low on hard disc space. I am planning on buying a pc in the near future also.

So here is my problem. I want to buy an internal HD and a case for the time being to use with my mac. If then, when I got my windows machine I would like to put the hd inside the box. How would I go about doing this, is there anything I would have to uninstall?

(not how would i go about physically moving the drive i know how to do that but how to change the formatting)

If your current computer has a firewire port, why not just use the drive for both, externally? You could partition half of it for Windows (NTFS) and the other half for Mac (HFS+)- I think- I'm not a Mac person. But the above is a suggestion. Other than that, all you will have to do is format the drive from within Windows Disk Manager once installed. Make sure you have all your data for the Mac backed up to something first.
