No, what he said though was he wanted to check if the old hard drive worked on his new pc, and it doesn't so thats that. Can we stop this complaining with each other now then please? I'm sorry I even carried on with it

i give in i have better things to be doing with my time .. if the HDD is broke then he cannot use it so he might as well buy a new one!

First of all nuke you settle down. Your behavour in here is starting to warrant my attention.

As for the pin missing, drives are made with a pin missing on purpose. Should be on the bottom row close to the center. Just for FYI the bottom row second pin from the left on a floppy will be missing also.

EDIT: This is with the circuit side down.
