Hard Drive; Partition Table invalid

Hello,

I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I'm having a problem with my hard drive.
I was trying to install Linux Mint 11 on my laptop, however since I'm a complete noob at this I messed the partitions up. Every time I start my laptop it says "Partition Table Invalid", recovery mode does nothing for me either.

I took out the hard drive out of my laptop and put it into my external hard drive case. I put it into my other laptop to see if it would recognize it. The laptop seems to recognize it as a Mass Storage Device, when I go to My Computer there is nothing. I'm assuming this is because the partitions no longer exist.

Is there anything I can do to make this hard drive work again?

Did you make your entire harddrive a linux partition? If you did then its possible for windows to not show the contents of the harddrive because of the ext4 journaling system.
