hi all,
im a little unsure of myself with laptop HDD's.
so i have the following question.
i have a failed hdd in my sons laptop;
http://www.allegro.pl/item939464533_dysk_fujitsu_mobile_mhy2120bh_120gb_sata_5400rpm.html

i have chose the one bellow as its replacement;
http://www.allegro.pl/item939464533_dysk_fujitsu_mobile_mhy2120bh_120gb_sata_5400rpm.html

are they compatible with each other?

sorry if its a dumb ass question, but one is a serial ATA-150-7 PIN SERIAL ATA
While the other is a serial ATA 300 7 pin

Yes, the drive you selected will work fine in your son's laptop. It will just run at the slower Serial ATA-150 speed. They are fully backwards compatible.

AR or anyone else for that matter, help required.
when i run the windows set up disk on the machine now i have the hdd installed, i get a no HDD detected message?
what can be causing this to happen?

if i do a test on the hdd from the bios it comes up as 100% ok!

help.
