Default hard drive

how can I copy my hard drive that is about to crash unto another hard drive I bought?The new hard drive has no operating system on it.I would like to copy what is on the old to the new without taking it in to a shop or having to get a windows 7 cd.Can this be done?

you need to clone the harddrive.
try shadowcopy2: Shadow Copy Data Recovery Software Products - Runtime Software Products
or XXclone: XXCLONE, A New Way of Cloning the Windows System Disk

i have not tryed those programs before. i used acronis, but that is not free.

Or if either drive is a seagate you can use this: DiscWizard | Seagate
