Unfortunately i cant run vista 64bit inside vm ware. Is this because im using vmware on a 32-bit version of windows xp, not the 64bit thus meaning i cant implement 64bit technology into an app. When i put the vista cd in and click setup.exe (not in vmware) it says this is not a valid 32-bit application. Do i need xp 64-bit to run 64bit apps?

You should be able to run it. Are there any newer versions of VM Ware that you can try with 64-bit extensions? Microsoft has a Virtual PC 2004 you can download for free.
