I borrowed a 6400+ from my friend (he upgraded to a phenom II) because my build arrived eariler than my kuma, when i put my kuma in my motherboard and booted up, vista only recognized one core, after i reformatted both cores showed up. i guess thats a problem that only happens to me??

Atomic Rooster is right, because you 'downgraded' your getting worse performance. Your Core 2 Duo E6600 was the only reason you were getting such good performance with your 8600gt

Yea, that's weird Prodigy. I've swapped CPU's out many times without needing a reinstall. Even went from single core to dual core CPU's and back.
