hello,

i have a new graphics card (Galaxy GeForce GT 640 GC 1 GB DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDMI/DVI/VGA Graphics Card, 64TGF8HX6FTZ) received it as a gift and its a pci-e 3.0. my mobo can only support pce-e 2.0 (ASUS P5G41T-M LX3).
is it ok for me to use the Gcard on my mobo? if yes, would would my mobo affect the full performance/potential of my Gcard?

PCI-E is backwards compatible so it will fit and work perfectly fine.

The difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 isn't even worth thinking about to be honest. So there will be zero performance hit by putting a 3.0 card in a 2.0 slot :)
