the processor is a athlon 1.79 ghz 1 gig of ram which is max for the mother board, which video card would offer best performance with easiest install?

Even with that CPU and RAM, a HD 3850 would still bring considerably better performance than a 7600GT.

I'd say your best bet would be the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600PRO. It's a good price for what you are getting. While not nearly as fast as the HD 3850, it's more compatible with what you currently have in your system and is a nice upgrade.
