Graphics Accelerator ?????

hi could somone tell what a Graphics Accelerator is what dose it do ect.... i have a geforce 6800 LE graphics card do i still use it or will it make my graphics better somehow ???? thanks for all help

Basically a graphics accelerator , gpu graphics card whatever you call it processes the graphics you see on your screen , they come in to types ,
Integrated -Integrated graphics chips share the main computer resources like ram and the cpu , they are integrated into the motherboard
Dedicated - most serious gamers use dedicated graphics cards because they leave the cpu and ram free for other things , they are attached to a port inside the computer .
