I restored my sony vaio and the graphics card doesn't appear to be installed. so i went to the sony website and downloaded the driver but when i installed the software it says software does not meet minimum requirements

Usually the graphics drivers for integrated are just the chipset drivers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only time I've ever installed real "graphics drivers" was when I had to install CCC on an AMD machine with integrated ATI HD3200 graphics. All others I've ever done have just been chipset drivers.

If you have installed the motherboard chipset drivers, one would think that you were covered.

Try the ones directly from Intel: Intel® 82915G/82910GL Express Chipset Family

Exactly. This leads me to believe he may have been trying to install drivers for a dedicated card that was offered in the same series/model as his, but not his. Hence the "not meeting min. req." promt/error.
