Default GPU faster than CPU (folding at home)

I get the same job for both systems. The GPU job says a couple of hours. The CPU job says a couple of DAYS.

The vid card is a EVGA GTX650 ti with 2 gigs of ram. The CPU is an Intel i5 3570K with 16gigs backing it up.
How in the world does the vid card getting done faster than the computer?

This is sad...

Shoot the GPU's already grabbed another job and working on it.
This is too weird...

Yes GPU only is for rendering or gaming purpose, I think you should increase CPU for folding, GPU is Graphic Processing Unit.

I found out that the folding program written for the GPU's is done in a fashion that is similar to rendering. Since it's written to target the GPU's capabilities, it's over all faster.
But I never expected it to outrun the CPU's capabilities. That was interesting to find out.

Simply false. There is a GPU app for it that takes advantage of all the cores in the GPU. Nvidia provides an API to allow people like those who made folding at home to utilize this.

Easiest way to explain it is to just point ya to the source: Folding@home

Oh Seti, to answer your original question:

Folding works great with multi-cores. The GPU version utilizes all of the 384 CUDA cores your GPU has (according to newegg: EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P4-2652-KR GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Newegg.com) and just excells
