I don't know much about computers, but is that a good setup for a mid ranged gamer?

hmmm, no monitor?
that is definately not good for a gamer :D
otherwise pretty good, but if ur gamin, upgrade ur vidcard (6600GT or higher prob :) )

Yea the only thing I would change is the card like mammikoura said. The 6600gt will give you much better performance. When you get the cpu get the venice core not the clawhammer, its the newer of the 2. Dont think they offer a san diego core with the 3000+ which has a 1m cache instead of 512k. Let us know how it turns out.

Looks pretty good, though I would personally go with atleast a 3800+ X2, but thats just me :p the video casrd could use an upgrade, but considering what I'm using, it looks pretty good.

The cpu is usually the most costly componet, you will not have any problems with this cpu unless you are trying to play say battlefield 2 on the highest settings, and even then its mostly the video card when you are playing with a amd 64 3000+ v a amd 64 3800 x2
not saying there wont be any difference because there will. Just not a big drastic like a better video card would.
