Default Good MOBO in a Dell?

Been wondering for a while if I could put a high end MOBO in my Dell case. Would I have to drill new mounting holes for it? I really dont want to have to spend that much money if its possible.

It wont be too hard to do. As long as you have Dremel or varation.

I think this is the case still with the new Dells, but there is a 6-pin power cord that goes from the power supply to the motherboard. You can just disregard that, because only Dell motherboards use that.

Dells use dspecialised PSU. So, if you upgrade mobo, you must upgrade PSU.

As for the case, if this is a metal palette, maybe it is unscrewable or if you wiggle with it a bit, it will come off.

If not, make a big rectangle cut along the mobo outputs...not PCI. Then, you can slap the newer one.

Another thing I would consider is the ATX screws. Are they all well placed to fit newer mobos?

I tried it, you will need a new case, and a new PSU.

What dell exactly do you have. Because my dell has a 24 pin connector.
