Sony are overpriced for what you get, you really just pay for the Sony name. Check out HP (my favourite), Toshiba, Acer (if your on a tight budget), Dell.

EDIT: But it mainly comes down to what you are going to use it for.

your not going to find a laptop for that price from any one else trust me i looked long and hard for a good laptop 4 2000 bucks best i could find
