Best affordable case out there in my opinion is the Antec 900. Great ventilation, looks good, and has a lot of space.

The case you linked to is real nice. I have worked with a few in person. Ventilation is ok, and I wish it wasn't made out of plastic, but It is sturdy and looks cool.

There is an LED display on the front, near the bottom, it requires no additional connectors to the computer.

Personally, I would stay away from the striker you linked to and get the EVGA board Thelis recommended. From personal experience I can tell you the striker is very picky about the ram that goes in it. If it is not on the approved list, it will cause problems. The evga board is stable, and reliable. It has been able to take everything I've thrown at it (which isn't as much as some of the other members).

Kinda off topic, but can I ask you to watch the double posting. If you could use the multi-quote feature or the edit button next time that would be much appreciated.

Celegorm, did you mean the case I posted to or the case that the OP posted to? Just to clear up any confusion.

If you want a different opinion, I'll throw a curve at you. You say around $800-$1,000?

First of all, DAMNIT NEWEGG!!!!!! Theyr'e always messing with the interface. Now I have to get use to navigating their new site.

I'm actually quite proud of this setup. Ths motherboard is an excellent overclocker should you ever want to try. It has potential for faster RAM and CPU. I just chose the cheaper CPU and RAM so if can be within your budget, hopefully. I didn't add them up but you can see if you like or not. I wouldn't mind getting this for myself, lol. In fact, I have this on my wish list on Newegg:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail

GeIL 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820144027

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144415

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021

LG Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 10X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache ATAPI / E-IDE Super Multi DVD Burner - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136117

Sorry it took so long for me to post it on here. I really like the case too. That Antec is all about performance. This setup may be a little high end, lol, but I can't resist. It's within your budget though so that's all the better.
