yer should be powerfull enough for word processing , internet music stuff like that although it is only monocore so it wont be amazingly fast at multitasking
Only thing i would say is put another GB of ram in it , rams cheap enought these days anyway
What OS do you intend to use ? cos if you want vista i would say spend a tad bit more to get dual core
although for about $30 more you could get this which would be a lot better indeed for multitasking and future applications , would also run vista i would say with another gb ram

For that system I would just get XP Home Edition SP3. Another gig and get Vista Basic.

Yeah, $30 for dualcore? Nothing wrong with that. I'm still on a singlecore CPU and its (lol) still doing great for 2 years!
