Default Good DVD software?

so i use Cyberlink PowerDVD, and when i watch DVD at an 1680 x 1050 resolution, the video quality is bad compared to my TV. (i think my TV is smaller than my 21.1 inch monitor....) anyways, the 8800GT is suppose to have pretty good video playback (HD). I know a normal DVD cant be played as a HD DVD or a Blu ray quality, but is there a software out there or something i can do or change to make my video playback quality more like TV, i dont want to use an s-video cored btw.
thanks in advance

PowerDVD is a great player. But the resolution would have to be lowered somewhat to see the picture quality improved.

You could try 1440x900 ro see that will clean it up. Unlike pc games video playback generally sees a lower resolution except for the newer HD format now being seen.

(as far as your sig go with a GameXstream model not StealthXstreme)

Have you enabled Hardware Acceleration in the settings menu?
