I say Yay to the card I think.

but wasn't the 6800 series except for the GS's version discontiuned from the range by Nividia? So basically, Newegg are trying to get rid of old stock

The 6800GS though which is overclocked on some models, has 12 pixel pipelines, and not 8, making it supposedly better...

This is the 6800GS:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814125218R

Note that it has more pixel pipelines for more things to be processed in one clock.

Though, I've just noticed its more expensive...

Never mind. This is a tad bit cheaper, and is actually better than the 6800GS by a slight bit. Because its using the newer core, its probably dropped down in price as more are being released:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130017

The only real difference between that and the 6800GS is the fact that it can handle 4 cacluations per pixel line, per clock, while the 6800GS can only handle 2.

That'll b excellent for all games, trust me, and its a great budget card.

Since its cheaper than the 6800GS too, its worth the extra money from the 6800XT you specified, and will perform alot better in new games

The fact they disscontinued stock, just means they aren't producing the other 6000 series cards anymore, so basically retailers are tryin to get rid, but there are alot better deals out there now. I mean, for another $15, you can get a card alot better, that'll handle the newer effects (Like HDR) better.
