You are right. The 9000 series is just renamed 8000 series with minor upgrades. I would only expect 5-10 fps difference.

Oh really? Is that why the flagship card is supposed to be a 40% increase in speed from the 8800Ultra?

Isn't the flagship the 9800GX2? If so, it is just a re-vamped 8800, that is simply two-cards in one.

{Edit} to back myself up here, http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/01/...force_9800gx2/ as you can see it uses the G92 chips which the new 88's use.

Its die shrunk GTX's, its using 65nm cores instead of 90nm cores.

I know they're gonna use G92, I was talking about the fact that we said it would only be a difference of 5-10 FPS. Definitely not the case.

probably febuarary the 9800 GX2 is something to consider though(if you are willing to spend the money 450ish usd) 40% increase on the 8800 ultra
