Default Gateway Motherboard

I have a gateway and I wanted to know if i could upgrade my pentium with a p4 and not have to buy a new mother board.

you will need a new motherboard if your trying to upgrade from a pentium 1 to a 4......... of course

i don't know probably, tell me your motherboard specs, it should tell what the maximum cpu should be
