its basically a P4 eqivalency so AMD is saying that a 6000+ is equal or better than a 6.0ghz P4

A gaming rig, and your getting a 8600GT?
I'm not saying its terrible or anything, but it will struggle in the future.

Muz: would it be hard or dangerous to OC the 5200 to ~ meet the 6000?
Rudster816: I kinda guessed that, but I was unsure
Kage: I swapped it out for a GTS, does that sound okay?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171007 Does that look sufficient for a PSU?

OK if u do some research then u find out that the 5200+ and the 6000+ have Uneven Multiplier's And I read some where that for X2 CPUs if its uneven then it does not run at full 800Mhz DDR2 speed so if i where u then i would get the 5600+ cuz of the even Multiplier's

AND if u like LED PSU and Modular cabling then get this Power supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817190012
But if u want a cheaper one i donno im tired and it kinda stinks that they put a mail in rebate on AFTER i buy it

Looks great. A few recommendations:
- Get an 8600GTS at least. The 8600GT is a pretty bad card.
- If you're not using high quality speakers, I wouldn't bother with the sound card, just use onboard. If you do have high quality speakers, you might want a slightly better sound card.
- If you want, for 7 extra dollars, this PSU is a little more powerful:

The one you chose is still good enough though.

Ignore NEED WOW NOW's post. The 6000+ is a great processor.

I would personally always get a sound card. Even a cheap Sound Blaster would beat an internal one I believe, as it relives the CPU from any work.

As for the 8600GT, its not a great card no, but if you don't want to play Direct X 10 yet, and may update to a card later that supports Direct X 10, the Radeon X1950 Pro is still a very nice card, and beats the 8600GT by a bit, and costs only 100
