Default Re: Gaming Rig

50 dollars doesn't get me another 3 gb of ram at the speed I like and anything less is pointless because it won't be in tri channel. It's a 2400 dollar rig, I'm not gitty about saving fifty dollars by downgrading. PSU isn't overkill. Will be adding an additional 5870 or 5970 later (which can be crossfired as the graph says) and I'll be overclocking probably to close to 4ghz. I may not need it, but power supplies can last a very long time and power in watts is always power. 3 ghz on a quad core between today and 5 years from now will change. 1000w, will not (hopefully)

EDIT Gibson...does your chart mean that my hd 5770 right now isn't compatible with my mobo. I have a 785 chipset

Desktop: AMD Phenom II 840 X4 @ 3.7Ghz // Asus Sabertooth 990FX // CM HAF 932 // XFX HD 5770 // 8GB Corsair Vengeance @1600 + 8GB G.skill Sniper @ 1600mhz (C9) // Cooler Master 600W // Zalman CNPS9900 // Sidewinder x8
Laptop: Dell Vostro 3555 // AMD A6-3400 1.4Ghz x4 w/ 6520 // 500GB HDD // 4GB Ram upgrading to 8GB soon // Backlit Spillproof Keyboard
