Does anyone else think this is true? I've used a custom built computer for gaming for five years and its finally about to kink out. My parents have had a DELL working for 8 years that's still doing alright. Does anybody think that the strain on a computer caused by frequent intensive gaming can reduce the life span of a computer?

No, I don't believe so, and there is no evidence of it. As long as you don't overclock your machine, and as long as there is power going to the fans which cool it, gaming should not reduce computer lifespan

I'd say yes its true, because a peice of hardware will eventually where out, no matter what.

The parts will downgrade but it could take 10's of years
