Gaming CPU?

Ok i thought so, but for some reason i though i remembered someone saying that dual core processors were no good for gaming, but that was like a year or more ago. Anyways, prolly go with the E4600 or the E7200, is there enough of a difference in performance for the extra few bucks?

Yes, the big difference are that the E4500, is a dual core and the P4 is only single core.

The only thing that i would use a P4 now is a server, and i might even just use a AMD 3200+ for that.

Cheers!

Well, the E7200 has 2.53Ghz, and the E4500 has 2.2Ghz. The L2 cache is 3mb as supposed to 2mb. Also, the FSB is greater: 1066MHz, as supposed to 800MHz, and the E7200 is 45nm, and the E4500 is 65nm.

So, yes there is a good difference if you have the money to get it, then it would be a good investment.

Cheers!

No i don't already have it, but i need a mobo with AGP.

How can i tell if it supports 45nm chips?
