I don't see how the quad isn't much better for gaming. The total Ghz amount is quite a bit higher, and games will start being designed for them in the near future, so it's more future proof.

The quad core does have an effect on gaming. I saw a post here today with a quad core vs dual core benchmarks. It beat the dual core, even in games that werent threaded for quad core. And in the game that was threaded for quad, lost planet, it destroyed the fastest dual-core. It was the Q6600 vs teh E6850 at 3.0ghz. I'll go and try and find that bench, but the quad core did significantly better than the E6850, and you are only getting the E6750, so the quad core would squash that processor.
