Gaming Computer Build Questions

I'm looking to build a new gaming computer to replace my current one. I know I want an i7 with 6GB of DDR3 triple channel ram. Everything else is pretty much up in the air. My budget is $1000-$1300.

Here's what I'm thinking...

CPU - i7 930 2.8GHz (I would like to overclock to the low 3's) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5719283&Sku=I69-0930

CPU cooler - Two possibilities, but feel free to suggest others.
Cooler Master V8 - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4420236&Sku=C283-1197
ChillTec Silver - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4486403&Sku=ULT40493

Motherboard - Again two possibilities, but still free to suggestions.
EVGA X58 SLi LE - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4694158&Sku=E145-2059
ASUS P6T - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4366643&Sku=A455-2868

RAM - OCZ PC12800 Obsidian http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4933682&Sku=O261-2028

Hard Drive - 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5659779&Sku=TSD-1000EARS

CD/DVD Drive - Sony Optiarc - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4959272&Sku=O451-1012 OEM

Power Supply - Open for any suggestions.
Corsair 750-Watt - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438609&Sku=C13-2503

Video Card - This is one of the problem parts. I'm not sure if I should go for something like a GTX 295, a GTX 470, or any other card in that range. I'm basically looking for the best single card option without spending tons of money. I play Bad Company 2, COD4, going to buy Black Ops and probably the new Crysis. Basically High end games and I want to play them on high settings or better.

Case - Another problem part. I need good air cooling with good water cooling possibilities. I can't decide on mid or full tower. I would like the size of a full tower, but I take my computer to and from college at least four times a year. Here are three possible cases, but I'll take any suggestions.
Antec 902 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129058
Antec 1200 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043
Thermaltake Armor+MX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133062

Operating System - I already have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

Here something to look over.

I'll go for the V8.
Motherboard/Memory(http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.468562)-(better memory-made for intel i7's)
Harddrive ok i guess.(I wouldent go green though)
CD/DVD Burner good.
PSU good.
Heres a very nice case-(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133086)-(But the ones you chose are good to)

And for the Video Card I would go for this-(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130550)

Hope this helps.GL, have fun!

The video card AmD suggests is fine, but definitely ditch the "Green" hard drive for a performance PC. If you want some performance without paying for the high end, the 1TB Western Digital "blue" drive is a good compromise.

Everything else looks fine.

Thanks for the input!

Here is what I have so far...
CPU - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5719283&Sku=I69-0930

CPU cooler - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4420236&Sku=C283-1197

Motherboard/RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.468562

CD/DVD Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118039

Hard Drive - Here I'm confused. These are two pretty much identical Western Digital HD's, but one is $10's more with a smaller cache. Also, should I get SATA-6 when my mother board is SATA-3.

2 - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4034139&CatId=2459

Leaning toward first for price sake.

I priced it around $1300 so please correct me if my addition is wrong. Last thing, would it be possible to OC the CPU to 3.0-3.2GHz with the air cooling?

The motherboard you picked does not support sata 6.If your going to spend that much for a case i'll go for this its a combo with a 1000w PSU for later SLI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.473509) Well built Case and PSU would last many builds.
other than that your good to go.Very nice rig you will have.Oh and the V8 would get it to 3.0-3.2 with no major temp increase.GL

wow thx im also looking for a gaming computer but i never touched the organs of a computer,,, do u think i should let google help me with my baby steps?

I would recommend getting a SATA 3GB/s drive and save some money. You will notice absolutely no difference in speed. I would also suggest getting the hyper n 520 instead of the v8

I agree on the hyper N520 over the V8.Its going to give you the same performance at half the price.
