Gaming Computer...3200+...or PentiumD 3.0ghz???

ok guys...im building a gaming computer...now which is better

something like a 3200+ 512kb l2 cache??? or

PentiumD 3.0ghx 2x2mb l2 cache??? thx

or should i we waiting for conroe???...and does ne one have ne info on this...becuasei dont know much about it..thx

Well, typically, I would say AMD is better for gaming... But the Pentium D may be a good choice... Are they around the same price?

Conroe is going to be incredible, I'd wait for that.

If it's for gamming, and your not bothered about future proofing, just for games right now, go the Athlon. If your looking at 2 years down the line, go the Intel. AMD might compare far superior right now, but when Multi-threaded and longer 64bit coded games come out, the pentium D might be a better option.

What Pentium D is it? 8xx, 9xx something else?

In all seriousness though, your better waiting on the Conroe if your current setup can do you the now.
