Hi there
I have question about my laptop. I have a Acer Aspire 5742 series, Intel HD graphics, windows 7, 2gb RAM DDR3 and intel core i3-380M core processer Is this good for modern games like Skyrim or Modern warfare 3? I cant change the graphics card cause its intergated graphics. But I got a new game yesterday called splinter cell conviction and it runs with major lag nothing else wrong with it just really bad lag! Could this be cause I have a small amount of RAM or is it cause my processor is not i5? And I was using FRAPS to check what the fps was while running the game and it seemed to be 5-9 FPS. Please Help, hardcorehardware! |

Most likely it's because of the video card. As much as Intel tries to say otherwise (even in their training videos to salesmen), their HD graphics cards suck for gaming. the RAM doesn't help but the biggest problem will be the video.

Agreed with celegorm.
Video. Turn down the settings in-game and see if it improves. Ram is a slight problem but mostly video.
