Default Games not working great on a 7900gs

Ok, I was playing battlefield 2142 on medium settings, and it goes at about 40 fps, but than it like is wierd, and goes down to 9 when I move or look . It is like freezing every other second when I move. I have the latest beta drivers. This is not right is it. Maybe its high temp? idk.

yes Vsync is off. I have the asus one which has higher than normal 7900gs clock seeds so maybe the fan isnt enough for it, is there a way to check temps?

Mine is an OC version, the highest OC version I found out there, so idk. I'd say drivers though. Maybe go to 93.71?

Yep, assuming you have latest drivers:
- Right click nVidia tray icon
- Choose NVIDIA Control Panel
- Go to 3D Settings
- Monitor Temperature Levels under Performance

ah ok. Well, idk man, maybe it's just Vista? It wouldn't surprise me if the drivers had some bugs.

If u r using Vista to play the games then there is ur answer... even the beta drivers suck. Don't think u will get good performance on vista for few months yet, hence why im not using it, doesnt support sli for starters...

Quite a few features have been disabled in Vista including Overclocking of the cards i think, not sure if this has been solved yet.

If u wanna check the temps, try everest or for in game temps try NVtray, think it works on Vista.
