Default gamepads not supported?

i was just about to buy call of duty and brothers in arms when i noticed that the info said it only supports keyboard and mouse. is this right!? i don't understand why they wouldn't support gamepads, are there a lot of fps games that don't support gamepads? i hate using my keyboard and mouse to play games
