Gameboy Emulator Controller

I came up with a project idea today. I occasionally like to play some of my classic Gameboy games on my computer with an emulator. This is fun, but the controls are a little bit of a pain on a keyboard.

So here's the idea. I want to make a USB controller that has the 4 way directional pad, A, B, Start, and Select buttons. Optionally it would be nice to have the L and R keys (Gameboy Advanced) and another button that can be used to "fast forward" the game (this is a feature in the emulator).

All that would need to be done is make these buttons simulate key presses on a keyboard.

I have old keyboards, joysticks, gamepads, etc that can be ripped apart...and a Gameboy Color.

Hi,
Whenever i use no$gba emulator with a joystick I use a program called "joy2key" to map joystick controls to keyboard buttons. Should be what you're looking for.
