Default game crashing - frustrated

hello - new to this forum

my pc is:

amd athlon xp 2000
256 kingston 2700 ddr ram
gigabyte 7vrx motherboard
radeon 9200 se 128 mg video card
win98 se - mandrake linux 9.0
s.b. live sound card 4.1
cdrw drive


the problem i am having is that games crash back to desktop or pc locks up - ive tried new drivers for video and sound - went back to old drivers - reinstalled direct x 9c and i am all out of ideas on what is going on.

it could be that the games are too demanding for your system, maybe its because you have linux, I know next to nothing about linux, but that could be the problem. Actually, thats probably b*******, ignore that, lol, I'm not really sure.
Try uninstalling/reinstalling the games, I've had quite a few that have taken a few installs to work properly

return to castle wolfentsien (game of the year edition)
quake 3 arena
quake 2
unreal tournament
unreal 2 the awakening

Your card should be able to handel them....Is your card, or any other of your parts overclocked?

i have nothing over clocked -i even have my ram running as 266 instead of 333
