Cool Full up ?

I feel a bit embarassed to ask this but my hard drive is or seems to be almost full up but I can't work out with what. Allowing for my OS I have an actual capacity of 75 gigs and my free space is currently about 15 gigs , So I have 60 gigs in use but totting up all my music, documents , Windows files and everything else I can think of I can only get to 20 gigs so it seems I have 40 gigs of stuff I can't find or account for. Am I missing something obvious ? Have run CCleaner and deleted everything found.
I do download a lot of music and the occasional film and can only assume that this stuff may be lying around somewhere. Thanks in advance.
