Default FTP help

hey trying to set up a FTP server for the first time. I downloaded smartFTP but doesn't look like I can set up my own server with this software. Anyone think they can help me with some free software and how to set one up? Dont want a lot of users to connect.. really just myself and 1 or 2 others from other offices/homes... Thanks in advance

You need to have an account for an FTP setup with your host, you don't do that through SmartFTP. The program itself is just to connect, your login details at the top.

If you want to run an FTP, you need SERVER and not CLIENT software.

One big example of an FTP Server is IIS (Internet Infomation Services) Under windows 2000 server and windows 2003.
