Default front panel audio problem

i just recently got a new case and connected everything, when i plug in headphones in the front panel audio port, my speakers dont get muted. does anyone know what the problem is?

they never go muted, if your speakers have headphone jacks, use it. the headphone jack in the front of your case is just another audio channel, before you use your headphones you have to turn down your speakers.

whats the big deal about turning down your speaker volume anyways? its like a 2 foot reach.

theres no way to fix it, you cant do it with software, because software cant detect rather or not speakers\headphones are plugged in, and there is no way you could do it inside of your case.

you could buy speakers with a headphone jack, thats about it though.

depends what speakers he has...some cheaper speaker don't have volume knobs on the speakers themselves
