freezing problem

try start\ click run
when the window opens type in msconfig then ok
select the startup tab and disable all startup programs except your viral scanner and reboot.
Usually startup items run windows out of memory and cause lockups.

ok I'll give it a shot.
I heard once that it will boot faster if you delete everything in the prefetch folder in system 32

Sounds dodgy, I wouldn't try it....

yeh that's what I thought. I might try it on one of my computers where I can risk it. If I do I'll report back to tell what happened.
