Default Free data recovery software

OK, so a friend of mine accidentally reformatted his computer thus losing everything. I gave him the site for the software we have at work, and it's too complicated for him.

Do you guys know of any good, easy free data recovery software?

Here's the one I used: PC INSPECTOR™ File Recovery 4.x. It worked well and seemed easy enough to use.
