30, but 30 needs to be the min, so realistically, I'd say 50 average, which is how benches are done.

A movie runs at around 24-25 so shoot for that MINIMUM.
I would say 40 is what you want to get.
Anything about that doesn't really make a difference.

30fps and above is usually considered the mark were games go from crap to very playable, anything above 60fps usually wont matter due to your monitors refresh rate.

25fps and below is kinda unbearable to play, 25-30 is OK, but 30 is the holy grail

if ur comp can run crysis on max settings in dx10 at your monitors native resolution, and its above 30fps, ur doing amazing stuff.

Probably just one GTX 285. But you would also need the right proc/board/RAM/ etc...

Suppose that also depends on what res you would want to play on.

well the system i'm getting has two 4890's that i'm going to be overclocking so i'm guessing that will give me 30+ fps on crysis?

also one more question, is getting say, (just an example, not planning on doing this) 4 4890's but having each run at pcie x8 worth it over getting only two of them?

YOU DON'T NEED 4 4890'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got it?
2 is overkill, and you do not need to OC them.
