A fairly simple question but one I just can't answer for my self. How much web space and bandwidth would a forum use in general, I'm not talking anything huge, just a community forum.

Secondly, a question maybe more specifically for David, How much space and bandwidth do the computer forums use?

That is an unanswerable question. It totally depends on the size, traffic, and content of your forums.

A small, low-activity forum like I had on one of my sites might use a few MB of disk space and not much more in bandwidth. Nearly any shared hosting plan could support that. A forum like DP Forums on the other hand, uses a dedicated server that cost $85,043.84.
