Default floppy errors

hi guys... whenever i insert a floppy disk in the floppy drive, my computer cannot detect it. it also hangs up so i need to restart.. what could be the problem?

try and clean your drive that could help.

can you boot from your Floppy?

how can i clean it? nope i cant... black screen appears whenever i boot from my floppy...

yes thats a problem with your drive you may need to buy another ... to clean it you get compressed air and spray into the drive.

Check to see if BIOS is detecting any errors with the floppy drive when you start up.

Maybe your floppy cable is toast, try getting a new floppy cable.

no no hay eunice is the light of the floppy always on if so, you have the cable reversed ether on the drive it self or the controller. out

nope.. its not always on.. what else could it possibly be?

but i just bought this floppy drive last november 2004.. ill try to clean it and check its cable later, and see if it works... ill let you know... thanks for the replies...
