Floppy drive not reconized

I have a Dragon soyo kt400-8235 motherboard and no matter what
floppy drive i put in..... the floppy light always stays on and when i look in c drive there is no floppy drive!?

Well a floppy drive would normally be found under My Computer rather than the C:/ drive, do you know if the floppy drive is plugged into the IDE socket, or the floppy drive socket on the motherboard?

Also, is the light the green light on the floppy drive itself? And does it come on when you put a floppy disk in or is it on all the time?
