I think it might just be defective, but I dunno. It was some NEC floppy I got from newegg for like 7 bucks or so, but it won't work. Everything is plugged in and when I go to the properties for it, it even says that it's working and stuff and my computer reads it, but if I put a floppy disk in it, it won't work. I even tested it by just trying to save something simple like a picture and it said to insert a 3 and a half floppy disk even though one was already inside and even when I took it out and put it back in, it didn't recognize the disk. I'll check the plugs later or tomorrow or something, but I dunno, I'm thinking right now that it's defective.
