Default floppy disk cable

hi guys my name is michael mclaren im doing a course on computers and i need your help with something it is a question that i can not find anywhere

10. The floppy disk IDE cable has a twist just before the last connector. Explain the purpose of this twist

please help me

I have heard that was the end of the cable your suppose to connect to the A:, and the other is for the B:

I'm assuming it's just a way for the computer to distinguish the two...
