Default Flash Drive 101...school me!

I guess I need USB flash drives...I want to fit in.

What are all the cool uses? I guess I want to back up photos, documents and stuff, but what other uses should I consider.

I need to know what size, how many and the best ones to get and where to get them. And how do you keep from misplacing those little buggers?

Depends how much data you have.
I tie a shoelace to the hook.
It makes it harder to loose.

I put an old PSU wire through mine and attached it to my keys. It is a 8gig Patriot Memory Flashdrive. I have tons of lower end games for when I go to school, and come programs and files I need for school.

I use like 3 of them to back my files up when I change operating systems, which is like once a month.

I got mine off Newegg. It has a clip and flip out deal. 4GB. Good for hooking to my keys. I really haven't used it much, but it's there in case I ever do need a flash drive right then and there. I also have a tracking software thing on there, so if anyone were to steal my keys or just the drive if they plug it in I will know where it was at that time.

My flash drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211372
Tracking software: http://www.gadgettrak.com/
The software is $30/yr for 5 devices, but after I got my iPod and camera stolen from my room after a break in I figure I might as well catch the next people that steal something like that.

They won't all be the same quality. There's many different types and brands. If you want a very small one. If you want one with a clip like mine. If you are fine with a standard sized one. If you want it to be durable and encrypted. Think about what size in GB you would need.
Here's all that Newegg has: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2&N=2010170522
Read reviews on the drive you would like to see if the quality of it is any good.
