....thursday, and all i have to go on so far is that everything apperantly works, exept when he opens up IE, it auto closes or something along that line

sorry for the lack of info, ne theorys???

ill let u know more as soon as i know more

Scan with AVG and/or McAffe in safe mode and see if that finds anything.

Some viruses are impossible to get rid of in anything but safe mode.

Firefox isn't always the proper answer for an IE problem. For example, at my school, Firefox has trouble just starting, and even then it won't open a web page.

Not to mention, what if it's a trojan or something that infects all internet browsers?

Heres a few things you can try

Start>Run and type "msconfig".
On the "General" tab click "Normal Startup- load all device drivers and services" and click OK.
Run HjackThis and post the log

After that use this (permantly deletes all temporary files)
Clean up!

When you use this you need to be in safe mode. to go in safe mode press F8 on the Windows xp boot screen. if you cant run in safe mode just run the program normally.

If its not a virus problem, it is probably java. uninstall the add on. Then go to Program files/Common files and delete the java folder. then reinstall java.
