Alright, that's everything I have right now. I'll need a way to connect my computer to my internet connection right? What would you recommend?

Also, will I need any additional fans, or am I forgetting any basic parts?

Your board supports DDR3, the memory you have selected is DDR2, there are probably better coolers imo but it looks OK apart from the board/ram thing.

Not for an Intel platform, the FSB limits any advantages DDR3's higher bandwidth may bring. You'd be better off with some low latency DDR2 and an X38 mobo. Play it safe and go with some 1066 RAM if you want to reach the E8400's max OC.

No, the motherboard has onboard LAN.

And please don't go with the GX2, It really is a waste of $600 IMO. The HD 4870 (Launch date 15th June and performance is comparable if not better than the GX2, plus the TDP is only 150W) is worth waiting for especially as it'll be going for $250.

Bit overkill on the case and PSU, no?

I personally like the case & psu deal. This was one of my choices when I was assembling my system (I had a big budget). Also take a look at "Cosmos S" case.

If u decided to go with the raptor, be ready for the noise. Personally I would get 2 "WD"6400AAKS" hdd and raid 0 them. It will be fater then raptor, and 5X more space!!! Its a very solid HDD, lots and lots of good review. fastest 7200 rpm HDD. here is the link

Definitely DONT get the GX2!!! What u can do is get like 9800gtx from EVGA and when the 9900 cards come out (June) just do a step-up (hope u know what im talling about)

If u not going SLI, U DONT NEED THIS MOBO. get an X38 or something, or even a p35. u really need to think hard and decided if u need DDR3. If u have the money, then go for it. Soon DDr3 will be main stream, but for the price thart DDR2 is selling now its hard not to get 4G of 1066 memory for $100 ONLY!

Also dont go for creative! If I were u I wopuld go for: AuzenTech Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz ($174.99) This is a KICK ass card!!!

U can also do a better job with the cpu cooler. XIGMATEK HDT-S1283, Thermalright 120...etc are better cooler

His cooler is fine if he doesnt plan on trying to get a max oc. I would also suggest an intel p35/x38. If though, you do go nvidia you can get the 750i or the 780i if you run ddr2 ram.
