Default First Rig

Thought this would be a good thread for people to reminisce about their "first". :3 I just recently, yesterday in fact, began to build my first rig. It's going to be a long process seeing as how i have to save up more cash, but luckily my buddy just put together his first custom a couple months ago, so he should be lending me a hand. My soon to be parts list is as follows, if you have any pointers or comments to lend me a hand, it would be much appreciated! Thanks ( I am especially undecided about what Ram to get D= )

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66ghz 4x256kb

Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB
Western Digital 1TB Green Power
OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB)240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600(PC3 12800) 8-8-8-24
ThermalTake Toughpower 1200W psu
Logitech diNovo keyboard/mouse pkge
LG - 8x Internal Blu-ray drive
Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 1200mm Cooler

Wow! That looks like a VERY nice rig! You should be very happy with it when its all built! Everything seems fine to me

The only thing is the PSU is a bit overkill though! You would only need something like a 700WATT. Like this one

The most the GTX uses is 680 watts. If you get just over 700 you have no options for the future. Go bigger, not 1200 watts big but something like this.

I stuck with thermaltake just because I like them too. Or if you ever plan on SLi another 295 find a PSU that is SLi compatible. Then maybe that 1200 watter would be worth it. In my own opinion. Sorry if this sounds a bit jumbled haha I just woke up.

Also could go modular. Probably pretty expensive.
