I finally have mostly decided on the parts for the computer I am building. This will be my first time building a computer so I just want to make sure everything is good and compatible. So here it is so far:

CPU - AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4400+ DUAL CORE PROCESSOR S939 TOLEDO 2.2GHZ 1MBX2 90NM

MOBO -

I am planning on adding another when prices go down so I can take advantage of the SLI MOBO.

PSU -
Ultra / X-Finity / 500-Watt / ATX / 120mm Fan / SATA-Ready / SLI-Ready / Titanium / Power Supply
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1273336&Sku=ULT31844
Will this be enough power? I am trying to find the 600w version of the Xfinity but I can only find the 500w on canadian sites. I love the cables on this power supply.

Hard Drive - SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.8 250GB SATA W/ NCQ 7200RPM 8MB 8MS HARD DRIVE

DVD Rom/Writer - Not quite sure on which one yet.

Case - Sunbeam Samurai

Already purcahsed this from another site which had an overstock sale... The one I got has 4x 80mm fans.. Will this be enough? I do not plan to overclock. I also plan on adding an PCI exhaust fan to put under my video card like this one...http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=120565&CatId=804

OS -
Microsoft Windows XP Professional X64 Edition OEM Single Licence
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=14638&vpn=ZAT-00007&manufacture=Microsoft

I think thats everything... so what would you change? Thanks for any input!

Everything is god like, except I know a person who had the SAME PSU that failedon him today. It's bad and you need more wattage. And don't get the Windows XP 64 BIT EDITION, its a pain to find the drivers.

DONT GET THAT HARD DRIVE, i have a segate right now and 30gb doesnt show up which is rediculous if i were u get a western digital hard drive, everything else seems fine

well with all sats drives it wont show up...believe me i have a western digital rapotor...i highly suggest this drive

its 10000 rpm its insane my xp loads in a secong

lol

trust me though if u go with sata ur gunna have a hard time with getting xp on it..

if u want an easy fast hdd get a scsi

nice pc for harddrive if u can get like two harddrives and raid them. something i always wonder if u raided a 15000 rpm harddrive how fast would it load lol. gotta test that one day.

That is one hell of a PC your building. I like it. Get dual WD Raptor drives running @ 10,000RPMs and set them as RAID 0. It will kick ass. You might as well get that if you're going to spend that much already. This will give you a very impressive boost in access time.

Get a plextor sata interface dvd drive... it writes and reads at amazing speeds....

What exactly is RAID? I have heard of it before and I have heard of RAID 0 and RAID 1. I dont want to spend a hell of a lot of money on a hard drive, since that will drive my costs up especially 10 000rpms. And I think someone said it will be hard to load windows on an SATA DRIVE. Is this true? And will stock CPU heatsink be fine? What about the sound card. Is the one on my mobo fine?
