I've never used a grounding strap with any of my builds. I've been working on these things for 14 years or so and never once have I killed a component.

If you think you have a static charge, just touch the closest person to you on the nose. I found that's a great way to discharge static. Just be prepared to run if it's a good one.

As Zero0 said, if I wear the anti static gloves that come with my PSU, will I be protected well enough from static problems?
